Concentration (isolation) movements and the “pump”

My good friend husam thought I should post something about this issue, so here it is:

Concentration (isolation) movements:

Usually, when someone is bulking, you’d hear the advice of “use compound movements, and don’t use any isolation exercises”. But when you’re cutting, you’d hear “use 1 or 2 compound movements, and isolation on the rest of the exercises”. You see, when you work out, you’re not only working your muscles. You’re also working your nervous system. There are things called neurotransmitters around your muscles, joints, and tendons. When you use compound exercises, you incorporate more neurotransmitters in those movements. Hence, you have a nervous system overload. With the extra calories you’re taking in, and the extra hours of rest, it’s easy to recover from that overload and build more muscle mass. When you’re in a caloric deficit, and you do more cardio, there’s already a lot of stress on your nervous system as it is. Incorporating less neurotransmitters in your workout would help in recovery, and help avoid overtraining, while getting a workout that will preserve muscle mass (remember, when you’re cutting, the objective is to preserve lean mass. Trying to build it while lowering fat mass is quite impossible without “chemical assistance”).

The “Pump”:

If you have enough carbs in your system before you workout (muscle glycogen stores are all replenished) you’re supposed to feel a tremendous blood rush to the muscle you are working after 3 or 4 working sets. The muscle should get larger in size and, if the pump is strong enough, it’ll hurt like f*** (especially lower back pumps, I hate those). Why should you be happy when this happens? More blood in the muscle = muscles expansion = fascia expansion = increased size due to more blood flow = more nutrients shuttled into the muscle due to the large volume of blood getting rushed in = MORE GROWTH!
Plain and simple. What helps in getting a kick ass pump? Carbohydrates, AAKG (Arginine alpha keto glutarate), and creatine.

Pro-Hormones

To tell you the truth, after the ban on pro-hormones last year, I would not advise any beginner to start using them. By beginner I mean someone who has never used pro-hormones before. Why? Cuz the shit that’s out today is way too strong for someone who’s just starting. Basically, the new pro-hormones on the market are closer to steroid than they are to pro-hormones. A couple of years back, we had an arsenal of pro-hormones that ranged from very weak, to extremely strong and dangerous (4-AD, 19-Nor, 1-AD, 1,4-AD, 5-AA, 1-T, and M1T). These are all gone now. So if you want to start, you’re gonna have to start on something really strong, and I don’t advise that at all. Nonetheless, I have to talk about proper use. Let’s talk about the top “pro-hormones” on the market today:
Superdrol (discontinued)
Phera-Plex
Halodrol 50 (currently being pulled off the market)
Max LMG
Ergomax LMG
Prostanozol

Superdrol:
This has been bodybuilder’s savior after the ban. As the FDA put more to find out exactly what the components of this substance are, the company knew that it would be pulled off the market as soon as they know. So, they just discontinued it before they’re reputation was ruined. Anyway, the main ingredient is basically very close to methyl-masteron. Masteron is moderately anabolic, low androgenic steroid. Methylation makes it orally active. Most of the gains from this compound are dry muscle (no water weight) if diet and training is dead on. Methylation makes it liver toxic. I truly believe liver toxicity is over-rated and no one will get effected by it unless they have a pre-existing liver condition, or use the substance at high doses for extended periods of time.
Dosage: for a first time user, never exceed 10 mg per day (1 pill). You have to know how much your body can tolerate in terms of side effects. For advanced users, 20-30 mg per day is a good dose. 40 mg is for crazy f***s who don’t give a rats ass about their health. The gains experienced with Superdrol tend to halt around week 3 of use. So, I’d advise a 21 day cycle, and not more. Just remember that superdrol tends to dry up your body (dehydration, dry joints) so, make sure you get enough water and joint support (glucosamine, chondriotine, MSM).

Phera-Plex
Still, no one knows what phera-pleax (p-p) exactly is. They only know the chemical structure for it. Experience shows that p-p is a highly androgenic, moderately anabolic “pro-hormone”. In other words, a dirty ph. By dirty ph, I mean you’ll gain lots of water weight with this one, and some muscle. So, for those who want rapid weight gain and don’t care if it’s muscle or not, give p-p a try. Since this is an androgenic prohormone, you should take all precautions to avoid gynecomastia.
Dose: same as superdrol.

Halodrol 50:
This is a steroid. That’s why it’s only been for a couple of days and they’re doing whatever they can to pull it off the market. The steroid is called oral-turinabol (OT). A very mild steroid with solid, dry gains. I’ve never heard of anyone who ever tried this drug, and I don’t advise you to start. You’d be better off with a real steroid cycle.

Max LMG
Ergomax LMG
Prostanazol

Shit in a bottle. All garbage. They’re very weak, and aren’t even methylated. What does that mean? It means most of the compound won’t survive passing through the liver, and the little that does will shut down your natural testosterone. Do yourself a favor and don’t use them.

PCT
After you finish use, your natural test will be a bit low. You have to bring it up. I would advise the following:
Weeks 1-4 (after finishing the cycle)
nolvadex 40 mg week 1&2, 20 mg week 3&4
Vitrix (by nutrex) 6 caps per day.

Remember, if you start getting signs of gyno while cycling (itchy, sore, or enlarged nipples) use nolvadex at 20 mg per day till the end of your cycle then start PCT.

nice article about steroid use in law enforcement. full of bullshit though. I just don't know why if someone is an a$$hole they don't say anything... but when he's on steroids they call it "roid rage". Funny how there isn't a term called "alcohol rage", "buzz rage", or "nicotine rage".

Calf training

Now, I’m in no position whatsoever to tell you how to train your calves. Why? Because my calves are just as pathetic as my chest. But my point is to show you where we all went wrong.
First, let me explain what the fascia is. The fascia is thick tissue covering all muscles to keep them in place. Some muscle (calves and abs) have an extremely thick layer of fascia covering them because they’re the most worked muscles in the body. If that fascia weren’t thick over there, there would be a great chance of it ripping. Anyway, if a muscle grows, and fascia doesn’t stretch, then the muscle would return to it’s normal (former) size.
Second, genetics play a huge rule in how your calves look and grow. Ofcourse, everyone shoots for the “diamond calf” look (I’m talking about men. Women have much lower insertions). Sadly, very few can acquire that look without much work.
Third, you work your calves by walking, jogging, sitting and shaking your leg, almost anything you do involves calf work, which means it could take one hell of a beating.

Now, after explaining these three points, ask yourself “Do my calves look big enough?” if you have big FAT calves, let me be the first to tell you that they’re as ugly as shit. Plus, once you lose weight, you’ll end up with toothpicks for legs. Diamond calf means a big diamond shaped muscle right under your knee, small ankles, and very defined muscle tissue and tendons between and diamond and your ankle. Take a look at your calf routine. How many sets do you do? How many reps? Did you increase your weights? Now, after you answer this, ask your self about your pectoral muscles. how many sets do you do? How many reps? Weights? Write this down on a paper. Look at the numbers. Your calves can take double the beating your chest can….. now you know why you have small calves. Well, atleast now I know why I do.
