I really don't care if this article is made up or not. To me, it sounds like something that could (or for a better word, WILL) happen.
for those who can't read arabic... basically, the religious police followed a woman into the bathroom, and in seconds dragged her out of the women's bathroom (in public) while she was yelling and screaming. she then tried to escape, ran for a couple of meters then collapsed and blacked out. they dragged her away from the street and started kicked and beating her. when she refused to go into their car (SUV), they lifted her from her hands and feet and threw her in the trunk then drove off.

A lot of people in the comments section are saying "let's not jump to conclusions. let's wait til we know the rest of the story"
REALLY???? FUCKING REALLY????
"yeah, one of my friends gathered up his wife and kids and beat them senselessly with a baseball bat, then splashed them with hot oil and burned their skin off.... he wasn't done yet, he then covered them with salt and lemon juice and the pain caused them to pass out.... but let's not jump to any conclusions here... we have to know the whole story first... he might have a right to do that"

A lot of people in this country are brainwashed to believe that we don't have crime, domestic abuse, prostitution, drugs... etc. and that this is all thanks to the religious police or this country being "holy".

let me tell you about sick shit that happened in this country in the past couple of years that didn't quite make it to the news... What are my sources for these stories? The therapist who handled these situations, and the police officer who was assigned to these cases are all close relatives.

1- someone found out that his sister was calling a guy (boyfriend.... like that's something out of the norm) so he decided to beat her and.. get this... rape her. His sister was traumatized and had to go to therapy. they summoned her brother and his father... the brother confessed, and the dad said "i don't see anything wrong here... i think she deserved it"... the police were not involved due to fear of "ruining the family's name" (plus, neither the therapist nor the daughter could call the police... the therapist would lose her job, and the daughter is... well... a daughter)

2- A dude, beat his wife with a 3ajra (baseball bat with spikes) until there were holes on her back, go his gun and round up the kids (he was high on drugs and as drunk as shit at the time) and threatened to kill all of them. When the wife went to the police, no one did shit. it was like "he beat you? so what's the problem?"

3- (this story was in the news) a guy divorced his wife, but he had a little girl from her and he married someone else. the ex-wife wanted the girl but (even thought the dad didn't want to keep the baby) the ex-husband said he won't give the baby to her just to piss her off. so, she retaliated by telling him that the baby isn't his. the guy got so pissed off (and his new wife) that they killed the baby... how? the new wife beat her with her high heel shoes... and then the dad put her under the tires of the car and rolled over her back and forth numerous times til she died. The police actually put these two in jail, and i really don't remember what happened to them.

4- (this one i know by heart) a guy, very fucked up... mid twenties... used to have a room in his parents house filled with cocaine and booze (yes, here in saudi, in the eastern province) his dad just gave up on him (so did the rest of his family) he had an italian girlfriend (online) and he discovered that she was cheating on him... that's when he hit rock bottom i guess... anyway, he decided to turn his life around, go to do the hajj, and devote his life to god... hehehehe... i love those people... they were better off when they were "fucked up" and not eternally screwed like now. anyway, his family was so happy for him, and they just exploded with joy when he told them he wants to get married...
he got married... beat his wife senselessly everyday... had a kid 9 months later... ofcourse, his wife is never allowed to leave the house because it is a sin (everything she does is a sin) and her daughter was around 1 year old when this shit happened... she took a picture of her daughter while her daughter was walking... the guy always checks her phone day and night to make sure she isn't selling her vagina... anyway, he saw the pictures... got furious, tied them up (wife and daughter) and started slowly pouring boiling water on them while saying "this is so you learn that you never take pictures of my daughter... on whores are on pictures"


these are just some simple example of how we are a holy, safe, and civilized society.
my mother works as a social worker in the company... I saw an email from the medical organization with a "campaign against domestic violence"... so i asked my mom (sarcastically) "so, what are you guys doing against domestic violence? if i beat up my wife now for no reason... and i'm talking break bones here... can you do anything?" she wanted to act like these campaigns really matter and started saying "ofcourse!!! we won't let you do that!" So i say "how? the police are ok with it. and i personally know women who got this close to being beaten to death and the police said so what? and this is with medical reports from the hospital."

Fact of the matter is... in this wonderful country, it is your privilege and right as a man to beat the shit out of your wife and kids, then go to bahrain to get shit faced and sleep with prostitutes.
