Fat burner...Pfffff... MY A**!!!!!

Just wanted to share this little thought with you about how "fat burners" are really starting to get on my nerves. If you've read my post about fat mobilization, you'd know that Beta-3 receptors are only found in animal and baby "brown" fat. Here's a little "fact" i've come across in the discription of one of the leading "fat burners" in the market. the main ingredient is Octopamine. Keep in mind that beta-3 receptors do not exist in adult human fat. Here's what they say:

"Octopamine: Octopamine is a surprisingly well-researched Beta-3 agonist. It is most notably known for significant increases in Norepinephrine release. Interestingly enough, octopamine is quite effectual at improving insulin sensitivity (in muscle cells). What this does is create a feeding hierarchy that shuttles nutrients into muscle and away from fat. This means that octopamine is both a fat killer via starvation and anti-catabolic to muscle. Or to put it more simply: Octopamine burns fat while preserving muscle. One of the really cool facts about octopamine is that it significantly increases fat loss through Beta 3 receptors without increasing the jitters, increasing heart rate or causing loss of sleep."

my a**!
