first, i would like to apologize for the "cringing" effect you will have when you listen to this crap... all the recording turned out next to perfect, except for the vocals... the vocals basically ruin all the songs... LOL! the first song (hogtied) turned out pretty good cuz i wasn't singing too loud... the rest were really bad because i was recording the vocals in a room with tile floors and not much furniture... so you have a pretty bad reverb effect... kinda like singing in a bathroom... that and i basically can't sing for shitz... LOL... so here you go... i hope you enjoy it
Note: please listen to the music with some good headphones or some good speakers with a sub woofer... if you listen to it in crap speakers, like laptop speakers, it'll sound really really bad.
the drum tracks were done using beatcraft with the yamaha and tama kits
the guitar was recorded with a fender strat, which my baby bought me for my birthday when we first got engaged :D, that was hooked up to a digitech RP500 multi effects pedal that was directly plugged to the laptop.
the bass was recorded with the same guitar and pedal (i have a bass synthesizer in the pedal effects and it's awesome)
the vocals were recorded with a dumb bish who doesn't know how to sing and the mic that comes with guitar hero world tour... LOOOOOOOOOL
it was all recorded and mixed using audacity...

you know what i just realized right now? I think i know why the vocals sucked balls on the last two songs... other than me not knowing how to sing...
ReplyDeletewith hogtied, i think the AC automatically turned off (central AC) and i was singing directly in the mic...
the other two songs i was singing on the side of the mic and i think the AC turned on (the mic was kinda placed under the vent)...
i'm gonna record 4 more songs in the next couple of weeks and i'll redo the vocals on wilson and will you and see how that turns out... and i'll remember to shut off the AC when i record vocals :D

Dude, good stuff. Don't worry about the sound quality. We'll come up with something to improve on that. Still, this is tons better than the crap music being produced by "professionals" nowadays. Keep it up, I can't wait to hear more.

ReplyDeletenice music dawg,, fo real,, u know what,, i think that if u somehow got to record this shit in a way that makes it sound really professional, -like a commercial recording with the sound engineer n all, it would sound really really good, ,,,,, it's not about the vocals,, the lines are great,, i think u just need more vocal practice n u can nail the !@#$.

and yea,, if may suggest something,,, try different tempo's,,, i think some riffs would sound better with a faster tempo,, but thats just my humble opinion,,,
