After reading this, my brain just went haywire!!!
Cliff notes for those who don’t want to read it:
- The way things are going, by 2048, all adult Americans will be overweight
- 2/3 of the American population is overweight, which doesn’t make that prediction farfetched.
- 78% of African America women are overweight or obese
- Healthcare costs from fat asses will reach $957 billion by 2030
- Telling people to eat less and exercise more isn’t working
This is a survey done in the US… I know we aren’t in the fucking US, but this is a world wide trend. The only people who are actually doing something about it are Japan. So really, this applies to people around the world. Saudi Arabia, for example, is getting fatter by the day. You know something is dead wrong when a woman wearing an abaya made out of 60 meters of cloth looks like she’s wearing spandex… and she’s only 4’8.
That’s not my point
What I’m trying to say here is that we are all getting fatter NOT because we aren’t trying. Everyone and his mom has been on a diet program. From the ridiculous/stupid/dangerous programs to the sane and healthy programs. People are spending more money, putting more effort, spending more time on diet books, diet programs, trainers, supplements… etc. why are we getting fatter?
I’ll tell you why. Plain and simple… BECAUSE WE ARE STUPID AND NAÏVE!!! We believe the most ridiculous explanations when it comes to diet and shit. For example, yogurt, green tea, and grapefruit burn fat. Eating 500 calories will make you lose all the fat you have. Eat one kind of food one day, another kind the other and so on. All you need is 10 minutes of walking per day. Yet we don’t have the brains to question this information, or put any effort to understand how our bodies work.
Everyone who reads this blog has tried to diet and exercise. How many were successful? And I don’t mean the “I lost 8 lbs… yup… went down from 280 lbs to 272 lbs… yeah, I’m 5’3” …
The fatter we get, the more fad diets pop out, the more people fuck up, and the more I have to suffer with clients.
Why?? Because… with MOST of my clients (who aren’t into bodybuilding), they have a fucked up metabolism. For all my clients… add a comment to this post… when you started with all the meals I gave you… and you thought you were gonna puke the first week or two from all the food. What happened after that? Tell me… what happened? You started complaining about eating 5-6 meals per day, and you were starving to death. Right? Why is that? I’ll tell you why… because you have fucked up your metabolism far beyond comprehension, that even if you eat a normal amount of calories for your body, you would feel fat, bloated, and stuffed. I suffer with my clients who are like this because they gain weight at the beginning. And they get depressed. I try to explain to them that I’m trying to fix up their metabolism, and some of them quit on me.
This “fatassism” shit has gone way too far. People don’t know what the fuck is going on and they are being steered far from the truth. All that “Jarred lost a billion lbs on a subway diet”, and the Atkins, southbeach, chemical, ass rape diets that are coming out. People think it’s a secret to lose weight. You are fat because you have no self control and you believe everything that is being vomited out of your TV.
I watch TV these days and I see women who look like fitness models, men who are at 8% fat… etc. African American women are “known” to have a tight ass, nice thighs, and a tiny waist… fuck that… I’ve never seen that outside in my life. Go to Louisiana… you’d fucking vomit. I haven’t see a black woman who was under 40% fat. Latinas… oh they’re beautiful on tv… bullshit… I can make ruffles look like a hot piece of ass on TV. Ugliest shits I’ve ever seen when I’m talking about reality. What I’m trying to say here is that TV DOES NOT REFLECT REALITY, YOU ASS FACES!!!!
I notice these things when I go out… due to my insecurities and shit… I swear to you, out of ever 100 men I see, maybe 1 or 2 don’t have a belly… give them 10 years and they will. Of course, most people would say that it isn’t a belly. The definition of “belly” these days is “if you stand up in the shower, and you can’t see your dick, then it’s a belly”. What has the world come to?
Our standards keep getting lower and lower and lower til we fall off the fucking edge of reality because of this shit. We have convinced ourselves that “being a little fat is sexy, obese is kinda good, in shape is just plain old disgusting”… we say that because we know deep down inside that it’s as hard as shit to be in shape these days… right?
Women just say: “men like a woman to have a little fat on her”
And men say: “women hate muscular men. Six packs are only for gay people.”
And we fucking believe it. That’s how bad we’ve become.
Here’s the truth
On TV… when you see people in the background walking around that have nothing to do with the movie… you know, men who look like they’re about to step on a bodybuilding stage, and women who look like they are heading to a bikini contest? Yeah, THEY HAVE AGENCIES THAT EMPLOY PEOPLE FOR THEIR BODIES YOU DUMB SHITS!!! Those aren’t random people on the street. Fucking idiots.
When you see celebrities going through major body transformations, it’s either steroids or plastic surgery. Did you see Adam Sandler in “don’t mess with the zohan” or whatever the fuck that movie’s called? He trained and dieted so hard for 6 months. 6 fucking months and he still looks like absolute shit. Why? Because there was no surgery involved nor was there any steroids involved in his training. And it shows.
The shit you see in magazines… all the celebs and their picture perfect bodies and shit… it’s called photoshop you dumb fucks!!! It’s not real!!! Everyone is amazed about how Madonna looks the way she does and she’s 50 years old… fuck that shit. Have you seen her for real??? In real life!!! Not on TV or a magazine or whatever? She looks like your typical meth addict. Cracked skin, aids patient like muscular wasting… horrible!!! And this was with make up on!!!!!!
They are hiding the truth from your ass… because they want you to idolize these shits and to buy their shit… anyway, I’m drifting off subject here… the “diet” industry is making a shitload of money off of you. I’m not talking about “supplements”. I’m talking about books, meal replacements, low fat/low cal TV dinners, Atkins/South beach approved foods, fat burners… etc. They are making billions off of you because you don’t know how the hell it works. Plus, they are endorsed by “the powers that be”. You have clinical trial proving that this diet is better than that one… eating this is better than that… blah blah blah… this medication reduces weight, this medication will make you look like a Greek god… blah blah blah… and what have we seen for it? nothing but an increase in the overweight and obese population.
I’ll be extremely frank and truthful here… Steroids are a huge part of the “fitness” industry. All those transformation pictures you see… if the timeline is true, then steroids were involved. And they are much much much cheaper than those retarded supplements.
Let’s compare here… let’s say someone wants to grow muscle, burn fat, and look like a fitness model… we’ll take a male and female for example… assuming training and diet are perfect… here’s the bill:
Using supplements instead of steroids:
1 tub of whey isolate per month $50
1 bottle of the latest fad fat burner per month $50
1 bottle of CLA $30
1 bottle of green tea extract $15
That’s a bill of $145 per month on supps alone. This is for males and females.
Let’s take the no supplements, just food, and steroids example:
1 vial of 10 ml testosterone $40 (this is a very expensive price in the united states. This is if they rip you off… the normal price would be around $25)
30 tabs of 50 mg stanazolol $20
30 tabs of 10 mg nolvadex $15
That’s for the male… a total of $75. almost half of what the supplements cost.
For a female is would be:
30 tabs of 10 mg Oxandrolone $50
That’s it… $50 per month…
The steroid cycle (remember, nutrition and training are both the same) will give 10 times better/faster results than the bunk supplements or the medication (like xenical or whatever).
You will say “what about the side effects… steroids are worse than cyanide!!” Doctors, “Fitness experts”, and government officials will say the same. But the reality of the situation… tylanol is more dangerous than anabolic steroids. I don’t’ care to go into further details, but for the idiots who don’t believe this shit… download the HBO real sports special about steroids, and watch the documentary “bigger, faster, stronger”.
Food
I have talked about the kind of crap you guys eat. You can take 10 healthy items and turn them into the most unhealthy dish known to man. You can take 5 healthy items, and 5 unhealthy items and turn them into a very balanced and nutritious meal that tastes real good. The killer is… NO ONE IS WILLING TO TELL YOU THE BASICS!!! The food groups and the servings are a complete joke. If the FDA and whoever the fuck has to do with nutrition suggests that crap to you, and you say “so you’re better than people in the know? Please… gimme a break” why the fuck do they change their mind every 5 minutes, and why the hell are we getting fatter if we go by what they say? I’ll tell you why… because it’s fucking wrong.
Tell me, why is it that there are some people who prepare for contests eating 1000 grams of carbs per day and losing fat, while there are others who cannot burn fat on more than 200 grams of carbs? Why can some people grow muscle on less than 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight and some people need more than 2 grams or protein per lb of bodyweight to grow muscle? Why do some people feel better on a low carb/high fat high protein diet, and some people feel gassy, bloated, and very uncomfortable on that kind of diet? You figure it out!
You shouldn’t have guidelines on “what kind of food groups and how many servings” you should eat. You should have a basic outline of how every food group affects your body, and what does it mean when you eat this kind of food and feel the way you do. They never, and will never teach you that. Why? Because the fuckers themselves don’t know it.
It’s not your fault
Well, actually it is. You are to blame for your lack of self control and lack of initiative to go and search for the information. But you are not at fault for not finding it. type in “effects of low carb diet” on google… what will you get? Half the sites will say that it’s been proven that it’s the best kind of diet in the world, and half the sites will say it’s been proven that it’s unhealthy, completely based on bullshit, and won’t help you lose weight. Do the same on every diet you ever heard about and you’ll find the same thing.
And this is where I get fucked most the times… people come to me and say “I read that this and that is the best”… they immediately believe what is written on the internet without thinking twice about it. I try to explain… but to no avail most the times. They think “hmmmm… who should I believe… someone with experience, knowledge, and actually look the part… or a ghost writer who just wrote that ‘low carb diet is good’?? I think the internet ghost writer guy is more credible”…
You will not find the knowledge on the net, or in a book, or anywhere… why? Because it’s different for everyone… what works for someone won’t work for another guy. That’s why experience plays a huge role. I’ve been at this for more than 7 years and I still have a lot to learn and research. So, don’t think you can solve it with a 5 minute search on the net.
Portions
Why the fuck do you have to eat 2000 calories per meal?? People ALWAYS underestimate their caloric intake. ALWAYS!!! If you think you eat 1000 cals per day, multiply that by 4. If you say you don’t eat a lot, and you’re fat, you eat a lot. A meal should be no more than 800 cals, and that’s stretching it. Although I have big meals sometimes (700-800 cals… sometimes 1000 cals or more after a workout), I never feel comfortable 10 minutes after the meal, and the feeling lasts til the next day. And that’s telling you something. I swear to you, there are people who don’t know what it feels like to be normal. They are bloated and gassy 24/7. this is mostly due to 3 things
Huge portions
Little to no fiber intake
Not drinking enough water
You ask anyone “do you eat fiber?”… they will immediately say yes… do you know how much fiber you need per day? People will say “I eat salad”… fuck that salad shit. 1 cup of oats has more fiber than any salad you’d find out there. Taking a shit should not take more than 2 minutes. If it does… something’s wrong. You aren’t getting enough fiber, period.
You do not drink enough water either. Water is healthy… no it won’t make you lose weight… how the fuck would it? you just need water to function normally. Have you ever see a car run with no motor oil or radiator fluid? Yeah, same thing. Adding it won’t make your car go faster or drive smoother… it’ll make it “normal”… drink 4 liters of water per day, it’ll make you “normal”.
My guidelines for you
As a trainer… it’s stupid for me to say this, because I’m ripping myself off. But, fuck it. These are general guidelines… and you still won’t get it, and I will still have people wanting to hire me (yes, arrogant prick) because they can’t, and will not figure it out even if it’s written in front of them. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again… not priding myself on this shit, just telling you my mentality. I was always good with numbers since I was a kid, and I understand this shit more than anyone I know (generally speaking.. I’ve talked to people who made me feel like a retard when it comes to nutrition… and no, they aren’t nutritionists… they’re bodybuilders). If someone gave me steps on how to solve a question in thermodynamics, and there was a little twist that involved some thinking of my own in that question, I would not be able to solve it for shit. Same thing here… most people (maybe all my readers) will not understand what the hell I’m talking about when I say these guidelines… nonetheless, I need to do my part and try to educate you. So, without further ado, here they are:
- Always start high on calories. The more calories you eat, the more your body burns
- Always start off with the least activity level, and build up from there.
- 4 weeks on a diet and exercise program is just an evaluation period of that program. Anything less is you wasting time and effort and not judging it properly.
- Muscle is the only tissue that will give your body shape. If you want to build muscle, anything other than lifting heavy weights (relatively) is a waste of time.
- Weight on the scale means absolutely nothing. Look in the mirror and see how your old clothes fit.
- Keep your meals at 300-500 calories per meal, depending on your daily caloric intake.
- One ratio will not work for everyone. Always try out new ratios and different nutrient timings.
- Anything other than weight training and a strict diet will not make you look good. It will make you look normal (like you don’t work out. But aren’t fat).
- A little weight training with a lot of intensity will take you a long way.
- It takes years, and not months.
- Protein (complete protein, not fucking peanut butter and veggies), is your number 1 priority. Anything lower than 30% in your diet is a waste of fucking time.
- Protein will convert to glucose, and glucose will convert to fat if in excess… you figure it out.
- Healthy fats are a must. Never less than 20% of your intake.
- Too much exercise is counter productive, too little exercise will make you a fat ass.
- You don’t need supplements… but they sure as fuck make it more enjoyable.
This is just off the top of my head.
This was a long post, cuz I won’t be posting for another 2 weeks or so. Going to Montreal with the Mrs in two days.
